This course is suited for:

Investor relations, risk, compliance and operational teams / Early-career and junior responsible-investment or sustainability specialists / Asset managers, asset owners and superannuation funds building organisation-wide capability / Future professionals preparing for roles in Australia’s capital markets

From 1 January 2025, Australia formally moved into mandatory climate-related financial disclosures aligned with ISSB standards. By 2026, this is no longer “upcoming regulation”: it is live, being reported, scrutinised, and increasingly assured, with first sustainability reports already under review and phased implementation continuing through 2027.

Legislation now requires boards and management of regulated entities to govern, identify, assess, and disclose material climate risks, while ASIC’s has escalated greenwashing enforcement through interventions, civil penalties, and broad surveillance across listed entities, funds and superannuation. With this level of scrutiny shaping the market, professionals across the financial sector are expected to engage confidently, often without a formal investment background.

This practical introductory course helps you understand and apply sustainability, governance and responsible investment principles, turning complex concepts into practical skills they can apply immediately.
